SpeedLab Performance intakes use only genuine K&N cone filters for optimum performance and maximum filtration. K&N high flow filters offer superior air flow and minimal restriction when compared to stock paper air filter and are guaranteed for life. SpeedLab performance intakes are designed specifically for their intended applications and feature proper mass air flow sensor mounts that are guaranteed not to throw a check engine light.
Each intake has undergone rigorous R&D and each applciation is dyno tested to insure that it delivers the actual real performance improvement and not just hot air. All SpeedLab K&N intake systems use mandrel bent tubing for a 100% bolt on installation.
Our intake for the Toyota D4D series engines uses a huge K&N filter to insure adequate air flow when the turbo spools up. An aluminum velocity stack insure smooth laminar air flow into the turbo.
Features:
- Genuine K&N Cone Filter
- Mass air flow sensor mount
- Vaccum hoses
- Silicon hose couplers and clamps
- 100% bolt on
- Dyno proven HP and torque gain
* Free installation when you visit the shop. Please schedule your appointment in the check out section.
FAQs
Q: Will this really make power?
A: Yes it will! Otherwise it would be kinda pointless to sell it.
Q: How often do I clean the filter?
A: K&N recommends every 10,000 miles or 16,000 kilometers or simply once a year.
Q: This is a short ram intake right? Do you have a cold air intake?
A: The Ranger and Everest vehicles don't have any room to locate the filter outside of the engine bay without any cutting up the frame. A cold air intake is not beneficial because the air will get heated up by the turbocharger, negating the few degrees difference. The correct modification to cool the incoming air is a bigger front mount intercooler.
Q: How do I clean the filter?
A: You will need the K&N cleaning kit and ther are a ton of YouTube videos on how to clean the filter by yourself
Q: Doesn't your filter come with a heatshield?
A: Truth be told, it's not really needed. It makes the same amount of power with or without a heat shield.
Q: Will your intake give a CEL (check engine light)?
A: No it won't.
Q: What's the tube made of?
A: Stainless steel or aluminum.
Q: Is there a difference in the material?
A: In terms of performance, nope. If you want the nitty gritty of it, aluminum is 30% lighter than stainless steel, but the weight savings of a few grams is pretty much negligible.
Q: I have a ___________ filter, can I just buy the tubing?
A: No you can't. We're not being greedy here. Primarily we don't know what your filter is or the condition, so we can't gurantee the performance if you don't get the whole kit. Plus some filters actually lose power like Simota.
Q: What's the warranty?
A: K&N has a 1,000,000 mile warranty on the filter itself.
