It’s a fact that the roads here in the Philippines are one of the worst in the world, and as such, our car’s underchassis takes an enormous amount of abuse as compared to other parts of the world. You know the symptoms as kalampag, langitnit and kalabog, which indicate worn out suspension components.
While the modern automobile’s suspension looks complicated with all its parts, we have seen and worked on a wide range of vehicles and have the know-how and experience to diagnose the weird sounds that come from underneath the vehicle.
Here’s the typical work and components involved in taking down a vehicle’s suspension
Shock/Strut replacement – P450/pc
Suspension arm pull down – P450/pc
Tie rod/rack end - P450/pc
Subframe pull down – P1500
Stabilizer link – P350/pc
Engine mount replacement – P750
Axle/CV joint – P550/pc
Labor only, parts are separate.
You have a choice of what parts to use whether its OEM from the manufacturer or Japan/Taiwan/European Replacement, depending on your budget and needs. Most items like stabilizer links, shock mounts, CV joints etc, replacement is fine. Other items like engine mounts, we highly recommend and insist on using original parts.
For shock absorbers, KYB Excel-G has applications for most Japanese vehicles while Bilstein and Sachshas for most European makes. We also recommend you look into performance shock absorbers if they are available for you vehicle because these are built tougher and last longer than the typical replacement kind.
Best to bring the car to our shop for a free assesment, so we can give you an accurate quote on what parts need to be fixed and need replacing, as well as a time frame for the work to be completed.
